 east spring sec2 YOG

Just came back from a camp at LAC. it was east spring sec2 YOG. my grp wasnt the best grp but they were AWESOME! they were students coming from diff classes and diff streams and they from GRP4(team lee jia wei).

I din have any indian chief in my grp so handling them was abit tough at first.but slowly u gained trust in them and they returned u that trust and thgs went well for that 3days 2 nights.:) hoorayyyy!

DAY 1 was ice breakers. as usual. so since they do not know each other, ice breakers would be a very gd activity to be carried out. so i intro them to the name game.:) and we break ice abit and blah blah blah.

Reached campsite and the 1st slot was high E. we started off with abseiling.there were a few of them who din wanna get up so i sorta threatened them/ shld i say gave them a choice. i rem these 2 NT guys, jun han and lei de. jun han was the one who was scared of heights. so i gave him a choice; is either he do abseiling or he do the high E. in the end he did abseiling. well done jun han! almost everyone did abseiling except 2 of them; bryan and jun kang. well done girls. ur all overcome ur fear. so when everyone did the EFI as me if i wanna do it too. so with no doubt, i went up. it was quite scary when u took ur first step out but after that it was easy peasy. haha. very fun. so sad there wasnt zipline for my grp so they din get to do it, so do i.:(

After abseiling was high E. i took a grp of 5 guys for climbing and one of the EFI,azree, took the grp of 5 girls and taught them belaying. i think only a few of them got to do this segment as before that there was a loghning alert and it took up abit of our time. but during that time i went thru the booklet with them so not that bad. finally i got to go thru booklet for once. haha.:D

After that was showering and dinner and night activity was the identity game. for the first time, there was half of my grp still having their booklets with them.and they were all girls and one guy, bryan. well done guys. ur rem wad i had told ur before abseiling.:) oh. for the first time after so many camps, i finally did the mama shop keeper. haha.:D it was hell to do that act.

Once everythg ended, it was night debrief and night night. i think my night debrief getting better. haha.:D good good.

DAY 2 was lower E first. i thot lower E would be boring but i was being proved wrong! it act bond the team tgt. the first low E was the wall. it was act bad at the start but once thgs get going it den went well. there were 2 walls so i started them off with the lower one followed by the other. the lower one they took 4min 39.12s. so after that i qn-ed them how long do they think they will need to take to conquer the taller wall and they told me 14 mins. and guess wad. they took only 5 min 32s. well done grp4! rem always believe in urself and u will be able to do.

As the bonding was there, we carried on with the commando crawl. we have ppl slowly coming out to do it and ppl volunteering themselves as spotters. this not everyone did but i think more than half step forward to give it a shot.

Next was bouldering. everyone get to do including myself. haha.:D

Morning came to an end and it's lunch time.

Before we set off for hortpark, there was an hour for preparation for campfire night. this was the time that i was damn pissed off. shall not dwell on it.

An hour is up and off for hort park. the time to hortpark was quite short. and the bonding of the grp was not there liao. i think it was due to that 1hr of preparation that brought their morale down down down. this was wad happened at hort park.









































But....

Once they were back to LAC, let them had a shower, and thgs was normal again. dinner was my grp doing duty. so assigned them their job scope and everythg went well. after that was sometime to prepare them for their performance later. but there again i got pissed off. but this time round it wasnt just only grp3. they were so so so not cooperative which i really din know wad i can do to get them involved. threatened them doesnt work at all and thgs went really bad when it was their turn to perform. i din bother to step out to help and i was thinking i shall just throw them into the sea and let them survive on their own since enough time was given to them for preparation and they were not making full use of it and being so incooperative. it was a teaching moment to them as one of the success principles says "there are no failures, only learning experiences."

Campfire was fun. i din do the dance with the other coaches as i was video-ing. i dun mind do it but too bad la. who ask me to be holding the cam at that point in time. if not i would be able to learn that dance. sian.

After that was night debrief again. and brought them thru the thgs that they did in the day and told them some teachable moments and yuppp. night night.

DAY 3 area cleaning and final debrief. final debrief din really do it as i had said wad i wanted to say the nights before. mirror debrief was done by ming fei and i wanted to cut him at times but i din cause it's not advicable to do it and it's rude to do so too. yar. but was he said was almost wad i would say i was the one whose doing the debrief. so it was home sweet home after that.

Left the sch and went to get food and sat at some void deck for debrief. love my major debrief cos we had marsh as our major ic. haha.:D we just say wad we feel like saying and yar. just share all our happy and sad moments unlike the other 2 majors they were like so serious at work. haha.:D

By the time i reached home it was already time to go for tution so i hurry batha dn went for tution. lucky i din went there early as they went out and when i just reached, they act just reached home. haha.:D
